INSOLES FOR LATERAL ANKLE SPRAIN
Key Benefits
- Developed by UK podiatrists
- Stabilises the ankle
- Controls outward roll (supination)
- Reduces risk of recurrent sprains
- Supports recovery from ankle sprain
- Restores natural foot biomechanics
These insoles are part of our clinical range and are used widely in UK podiatry clinics.
How They Work
They incorporate a built-in 5° lateral wedge that supports the outer (lateral) edge of the foot and helps prevent excessive outward rolling.
This stabilises the ankle during weight-bearing, reduces strain on injured lateral ligaments, and supports natural foot biomechanics.
Fit & Durability
Individually sized to fit a wide range of footwear, these insoles are machine washable and will perform consistently and indefinitely.
You will never need to replace them.
Understanding Lateral Ankle Sprain
A lateral ankle sprain occurs when the foot rolls outward, overstretching the lateral ligaments.
This can lead to lateral ankle instability and repeated sprains (chronic lateral ankle instability).
Repeated outward rolling places strain on the ligaments, reduces joint control, and increases the risk of further injury.
Lateral wedge insoles help control this motion, stabilise the ankle, and support recovery by restoring normal foot and lower-limb biomechanics.
Insoles without lateral support will be ineffective.
Clinical Pedigree
This is a registered medical device, used in UK podiatry clinics for over 15 years and available direct to the public since 2020.
