Understanding Midfoot Osteoarthritis
Midfoot osteoarthritis occurs when the joints in the middle of the foot become stiff and painful due to cartilage wear.
Overpronation (when the foot rolls inward excessively) puts extra pressure on these joints, causing pain during walking, standing, or climbing stairs.
Firm, arch-support insoles that control pronation are a standard clinical intervention to stabilise the midfoot, reduce joint load, and relieve pain.
Soft, non-supportive insoles will be ineffective.
